With its decidedly theatrical flair, BWMs concept for the Hotel am Konzerthaus was developed under the motto of “Backstage on stage". This is also reflected in the approximately 200 rooms. While the black areas such as the entrance and bathroom entrance stand for “backstage”, eye-catching materials such as velvet, wood and brass characterise the “onstage” areas.

For the Albertina's fall exhibition, “Gothic Modern,” two key design elements served to structure the seven exhibition rooms: first, a powerful colour narrative on the walls, and second, the use of curved, suspended partitions to create distinct spaces.

Bronze for the Austria Pavilion! At the BIE Awards of the Bureau International des Expositions, our pavilion for EXPO 2025 Osaka won bronze in the category ‘Exhibition Design Self-built Pavilions’ – we are delighted and congratulate everyone involved in the project!

At the first ‘Baudialog’ event, initiated by Hotel Gilbert and BWM, a panel of experts discussed the topic of ‘Urban greening – desire and reality’. The panel included Kurt Kleindienst, hotel owner, Ulrike Pitha, University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna, Markus Reiter, district manager of the 7th district, Simon Xie Hong, gastronomer, and Erich Bernard from BWM, hosted by Franziska Leeb. Following the talk, there was time for networking, with delicacies from Parvin Razavi's Restaurant &flora.

On October 13, the gates of EXPO 2025 Osaka closed, after six months and over 1.2 million visitors, the Austrian Pavilion team bid farewell to Japan. We would like to express our sincere thanks to everyone involved for their cooperation, it was truly a pleasure to work with you all on this project!

… at Figlmüllers Café am Dom, an espresso bar on St. Stephen’s Square in the heart of Vienna that brings the tradition of Viennese coffeehouses and espresso bars into the present day. BWM have revitalised the Rathauskeller in Vienna’s historic City Hall, including its event spaces and the 110m-long corridor, restoring and emphasising the building’s original fabric – right now, marking the 200th birthday of Friedrich von Schmidt, the City Hall’s architect. The Vienna Rathauskeller is a complex ensemble of highly varied spaces that, nevertheless, share many design elements – we have brought these elements back to the fore …

On October 4, the ORF Long Night of Museums will take place again – whether it's the Albertina, the House of Austrian History, the Literature Museum, the former synagogue in St. Pölten, the Papyrus Museum, the Archaeology Museum at Eggenberg Castle, the Technical Museum etc., they will all open their doors from 6 p.m. to midnight and offer guided tours and special events.

On the Day of the Monument, which took place for the 30th time this year, the Federal Monuments Office invited the public to experience historic objects up close and free of charge. Erich Bernard and Markus Kaplan were on site at The Hoxton, Vienna, to explain the conversion of the Gewerbehaus, originally built by Carl Appel, into a hotel.
